Legendary Seattle radio personality, Wayne Cody, waves to local fans at the end of his final broadcast for KIRO Newsradio 710 on March 29, 1996. The remote broadcast was on the south shore of Lake Union. Wayne’s broadcasts began in the middle 1970’s with the Seattle Sounders of the NASL.
The sun does set in fine dramatic fashion during the Seattle summers. Those of us who call Seattle home proclaim our summer evenings tops on the list of things to enjoy in the Pacific Northwest.
Wrestlemania XIX came to Seattle, Washington in 2003. The American Diabeties Association became the beneficiary from Wrestlemania stars like Rey Mysterio who posed with fans. The photography helped raise over $33,000 for the ADA as over 3,000 photos were purchased by fans during the two day event. Mysterio lost the Cruiserweight Championship to Matt Hardy.
There is no stage fright in the way of Seattle auctioneer, John Curley, who puts much of his entertaining panache into every auction he presides over.
