In 1989 Seattle Mariners Jim Lefebvre brought the 19 year old to the major leagues to play 13 season with the Mariners.
The Kingdome, home to the NFL franchise Seattle Seahawks from 1976 to 1999, became renowned for its extremely noisy confines. So much so that the league instituted a noise rule in 1985 in an attempt to quiet home field fan participation.
