Evergreen Point Floating Bridge circa 1992

The 520/Evergreen Point Floating bridge that connects Seattle and Bellevue along with the greater eastside is the worldest longest floating bridge at 7,578 feet and was opened August 28, 1963. The span, later renamed in 1988 for former Washington Governor Albert D Rosellini, would serve the transportation needs of the Lake Washington community for 50 years before a scheduled replacement program and a two-year construction project that will have the new bridge in place in 2014.
